Follow the steps below to learn how to use the MiniSting battery charger to charge the battery.
To charge the battery, turn off the power and connect the charger output cable to the connector in the top left corner of the instrument and use one of the following chargers supplied with the MiniSting
For the older black metal charger: Check to see that the battery charger is set for the correct main voltage (110 V or 220 V). Connect the standard battery charger to the main AC outlet with the correct voltage. A fully discharged battery is normally charged to full capacity within 1.5 hours. The red light on the charger means that the battery charger is in the fast charge mode. When the red light goes off and the green light comes on. The battery charger is then in the trickle or float mode and can be left for a long time without the risk of overcharging the battery.
For newer black plastic charger: This charger uses a switching supply so can connect to 110V or 220V with 50 or 60 Hz AC. A plug type adapter may be needed in your area. A fully discharged battery is normally charged to full capacity within 2.5 hours. A light will go from orange to green when ready. The battery charger is then in the float or trickle mode and can be left for a long time without the risk of overcharging the battery.
