What common SuperSting™ troubleshooting can I do myself before reaching out to customer support?

If your SuperSting™ doesn't appear to be working correctly, here are a few common fixes:

1. Double Check Your Power Supply

Are you using 12 Volt deep cycle batteries or normal car batteries? Car batteries are NOT recommended. We suggest using the AGI AC/DC Power Supplies with a Honda EU1000i generator.

Is the battery voltage above 12.1 Volt? If not, your battery is probably depleted. A newly charged 12 Volt battery will usually be over 12.6 Volt when fully charged.

2. Check All 3 Fuses

Today's generation of SuperSting™ Electrical Resistivity Instruments have the 3 fuse holders on the front face-plate. Some older generations have 2-3 internal fuse holders.

3. Perform a Receiver Test

Perform a receiver test in Menu 3 with the AGI TestBox attached to the SuperSting™ WiFi. The resulting values on each channel should be between 475 and 525 milli-ohm. For this test you don't need to attach the SwitchBox or the electrode cable.

4. Format the Data Memory

Format the disc memory in Menu 5.

5. Reset the SuperSting to its factory defaults

Reset the defaults by going to Menu 6, then pressing 4 on the keypad, then pressing 4 again.

6. Retry the receiver test. The resulting values on each channel should be between 475 and 525 milli-ohm.

7. Contact our support team (help@agiusa.com) if step 6 fails for further assistance.
